How to use the Add-On Offer
The following article is a step-by-step guide to help you create and set up Add-on Offers complete with customization options.
This type of offer will allow you to create and customize an add-to-cart pop-up where you can upsell complimentary add-ons and services that will increase order value. This option is designed for those merchants looking to upsell additional services as well as discount and gift vouchers. As with all offer types you can include add-on offers in both new and existing funnels.
Step1: Create your offer
Once you’ve selected your triggers, click the Create Offer button and select Add-on Offer. This will generate a brand new ‘product’ like add-on that will not be displayed in your store. It will only appear in the pop-up and be added to your completed orders
As with all funnels, you can mix and match these types of offers with AI-recommended and existing products in your store. More than one add-on can be added to the pop-up, but these must be created and edited one at a time in order to make sure that everything works correctly. To do this simply click Add Offer offer underneath the first one and select Add-on Offer
Step2: Edit your Offer
You’ll first be prompted to pick an icon that will represent your add-on in the cart and pop-up. You can choose between modern and classic icons. Next you’ll be asked to give your add-on a descriptive name such as ‘Gift Voucher’. The first ‘Product title’ text box will be the name of the add-on as it appears in the cart and the second ‘Headline’ text box will be the name of the add-on as it appears in the pop-up. Please note: This is not your pop-up window headline, but your product headline!
You can also optionally give your pop-up a nice description. Finally, don’t forget to set the price of your offer
Step3: Offer Settings
There are 4 options you can choose that determine how your offer will work:
True Upsell (replace original product)
This offer means that the customer can choose the add-on product recommended in the pop-up over the one that they’re currently adding to the cart. This isn’t usually a suitable setting for this particular type of add-on offer.
Skip offer if this product is already in the cart
This option means that the pop-up won’t be displayed to customers that already have the recommended add-on in their cart. We advise that you enable this option if you want the add-on pop-up to disappear after it’s been added to the cart once.
Remove upsell product when parent product is removed
We usually advise that you enable this option if you do not want your customers to be able to buy the add-on by itself.
Additional Note Form
This freeform text box is particularly useful when selling add-on gift vouchers as it allows the customers to type in a message for their loved ones when purchasing it.
Step4: Save and Preview your Offer
When you’re done with your edits and setting click Update and your offer will be ready to preview. You can switch mobile and desktop view
